Presidential Taskforce to Advance Racial Equity

Admissions Subcommittee

Goals & Objectives
The goals of the subcommittee are multi-faceted and meant to increase the number of underrepresented students at Hunter College Campus Schools, as compared to the student population of the City of New York. The increase should be reflected throughout the four stages of the HCCS admissions process, with respect to those students who (1) are eligible to apply, (2) complete the admissions process, (3) are offered admissions, and ultimately (4) enroll in Hunter College Campus Schools.

Our goal is to develop and recommend strategies and methods in the hopes of achieving the following four outcomes:
1 -  An increase in the number of underrepresented students who are eligible to apply to Hunter College Campus Schools.
2 - An increase in the number of underrepresented students who complete the admissions process to Hunter College Campus Schools.
3 - An increase in the number of underrepresented students who are offered admission to Hunter College Campus Schools. Ideally, the percentage of those offered admission would match the percentage of those eligible.
4 – An increase in the number of underrepresented students who enroll at Hunter College Campus Schools.
