Hunter College Campus Schools’ Summer Enrichment Program will run again for its 35th year in July, 2020! We accept students identified as gifted and talented who are entering grades 1-7 from the New York area, nationally, and internationally.
Tuition for the program is $1200, which includes a $100 non-refundable application fee. We are no longer accepting registration by mail. Our online registration begins February 7th at 12pm and the deadline is April 10th. Admissions is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Access to the link for registration will be available on 02/07/2020 at 12pm. We encourage you to submit your application as early as possible to increase your child’s chance of acceptance. Because class sizes are limited, we cannot guarantee placement into our program. As soon as a grade is filled, the application will close. As a reminder, applications will not be considered without payment of the application fee.
Once your application is submitted, a recommendation from the child’s teacher is required. This recommendation will be in the form of a progress report and will be emailed directly to the teacher during the registration period using the teacher’s school email address you provide on the application. Emails will only be sent to the teacher’s school email address not a private one. All progress reports from teachers are due April 3rd.
The program will be in session from Monday June 29th through Thursday July 23rd. The program is only Monday through Thursday each week. Each school day lasts from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Students can arrive by 8 am and receive breakfast if they wish.
NEW THIS YEAR! A Choral Enrichment Program will be offered as an extended day option this summer! This first come, first served opportunity is a non-audition choir opened to students of all levels of experience to explore and share their voices. The total cost of the choral program is $325. While this Choral Enrichment Program is optional, we must ask that families express a firm commitment when submitting their application. The Choral Enrichment Program will extend the day until 4:45pm, with dismissal ending no later than 5pm.
Each class will be taught by professional teachers in the following subjects: STEM, the Arts, Physical Education, and English Language Arts. Our theme for the summer is “Learning in Action”. This theme will be realized in two ways. First, students will be learning in active hands-on projects and activities in all subject areas, designed by our incredible teachers. Second, students will be challenged to find ways to take what they have learned and put it into action. Students will do this through projects, presentations, and collaborations with the ultimate goal of enriching the lives of others.
