Hunter Sports: Elementary School Edition

The Elementary program is developmental, with an emphasis on learning the skills of the sport, sportsmanship and creating opportunities for Elementary school students to compete with classmates and/or teammates. The Hunter Athletics program is extra-curricular and is separate from the curricular Hunter Physical Education program.

Elementary School Athletics has three competitive teams.
  • Fencing (Fall), Fencing (Spring) - grades 3-6.
  • Track-and-Field (Spring) - grades 5 and 6.
We will also offer weekend sports clinics in the fall, winter, and spring open to grades 3-6.

Registration For ES Athletics

You must complete a separate registration for each sport/clinic.

  • Hunter Sports Online

Your child’s calendar, accessible upon login to My Hunter, will include practices or games of any current sport he/she is participating in.  You may also subscribe to a weekly “Sports Blast” email. Before each season the Sports Blast will list all information sessions and tryout dates.  You will find all documents and forms here as well.
  • Uniform and Equipment Fees

To support the cost of the athletics program, a fee of $150.00 is collected by the coaches from each participating athlete at the beginning of the season to pay for all aspects of the program, including uniforms, league fees, some coaching costs, facilities, transportation and other expenses. An HCHS student fee waiver is accepted for the Athletic Uniform and Equipment fee.

  • Parent Support and Communications

Parents are encouraged to attend their team’s competitions and support the team. The HCCS PTA Sports Committee arranges for each team to have a parent rep that helps facilitate quicker and more complete communication between the coaches and the parents, sending emails about game and practice schedules and locations, where needed, change in schedules, or other requests by the coaches.

If your student cannot make a practice or game, the student and/or parent should inform the coach and/or parent rep. It is very helpful, especially in Middle School, to attempt to do both to make sure that the team knows of the absence.

Parent Consent and Medical Forms

Each athlete must submit a parental permission form. The parental form must be turned in for each sport.
