Sabine C. '26 Recognized as NY1 Scholar Athlete

Hunter College High School is proud to celebrate senior Sabine C. who was recently featured by Spectrum News NY1 as part of its Scholar Athlete series.

Over the course of her time at Hunter, Sabine has distinguished herself as both an exceptional student and a dedicated athlete. A four-year member and captain of the girls’ varsity fencing team, she has been instrumental in leading the team to a city championship while maintaining an outstanding individual record. Her consistency, focus, and leadership have set a standard for excellence within the program.

Sabine’s impact extends beyond fencing. As a member of the girls’ varsity volleyball team, she brings the same level of discipline and teamwork, contributing to the team’s continued success. Across both sports, she exemplifies resilience, adaptability, and a deep commitment to her teammates.

In the classroom, Sabine’s academic achievements reflect the same level of rigor and curiosity. She has pursued a demanding course load with distinction while seeking out opportunities that expand her intellectual and global perspective.

What distinguishes Sabine most is her ability to balance these pursuits with humility and purpose. She leads not only through achievement, but through example, demonstrating integrity, perseverance, and a genuine investment in her community.
