On Friday, April 25, Hunter's Environmental Action Team hosted Climate Day with speakers during 4 periods: Daniel Propp, energy and climate policy expert in the US Department of State's Bureau of Energy Resources; Shiv Soin and our own senior Iz G. from Treeage, a grassroots student-led climate advocacy organization; Larry Bock, who has contributed to Diamond Sustainability Standards and created the Carbon Negative Diamond Company; and Michael Brownstein, CUNY professor of philosophy who studies philosophical and sociological aspects of social change. All the speakers emphasized that students can make change in their own lives that contribute to greater impact by influencing peers and acting in groups to influence policy and societal behavior.
