Congratulations to the HCHS Chess Team at the 2019 National Junior High Championship, which took place towards the end of spring break (April 26-28, 2019). Special thanks to Hunter Coach Farai Mandizha, whom we are grateful to have had there to skittle the games and support the team.

Over spring break, eight of our HCHS chess team members participated in the 2019 National Junior High Championship in Grapevine, Texas. After 3 days of competition against some of the top chess teams in the country, they finished seventh in the K9 division.

Participants included:

7th Grade – Henry B.

8th Grade – Connor D., Marcus M., Bradley R., Dylan S. and Brian W.

9th Grade – India Y. and Daniel Y.
