Hunter Hawks Girls Varsity Lacrosse won a nail-biter over rival Bronx High School of Science, 8-7, to earn a spot in the PSAL City Championship Game on Saturday, May 16 at noon. The championship game will be hosted by Midwood High School.
The Hawks jumped out to an early 3-1 lead and entered the fourth quarter tied in a back-and-forth battle. Freshman Arya Shah led Hunter with 4 goals, including the clutch game-winner with just one minute remaining. Additional goals came from freshman Tatiana Oh, junior captain Scarlett Mills, junior captain Julia Sandu and Anouk Roap.
In goal, Juno Taylor made 9 clutch saves to help secure the victory. A strong defensive effort and outstanding teamwork throughout the game powered the Hawks to one of their biggest wins of the season.
