The Brick Prison Playhouse Presents The Brick of Oz

Hunter College High School’s beloved student theater tradition, the Brick Prison Playhouse, returned this spring with The Brick of Oz, a dynamic showcase of original student-written works and film.

Founded in late 1982 by a group of Hunter juniors, the Brick Prison Playhouse was established as a repertory company dedicated exclusively to producing plays written and directed by Hunter students. For more than four decades, the program has provided students with a creative platform to bring original storytelling to life.

This year’s production featured performances on Thursday, May 28, Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30, highlighting an exciting lineup of student-created productions:

The production also included a student film presentation. 

The Brick of Oz production was led by Student Producers Emily R., Marc R., and Alma L., under the guidance of Faculty Advisor Meg Sturiano, Technical Advisor Kevin Scott, and Scenic Design Advisor Daryl Embry.
