Hunter Students Earn Top Regional Honors in National French Contest

Hunter College High School students achieved exceptional results in this year’s National French Contest (Le Grand Concours), administered by the American Association of Teachers of French. Each year, students across the country compete in the prestigious exam, earning recognition based on national percentile rankings.

This year, Hunter students earned an impressive 25 gold medals, 25 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals. Even more exciting, six students received top regional distinctions for earning the highest scores in their divisions across the New York metro area.

Congratulations to ninth graders Lilly D., Gabriel K., Alyona R., Miranda S., and Vivian T. on receiving Platinum Awards, the contest’s highest honor. Senior Geva A. received the commemorative Myrna Delson-Karan Award for the highest Level 5 score in the region, while junior Isabela L. earned the highest Level 4 score in the region.

These outstanding accomplishments reflect the dedication, talent, and hard work of Hunter’s French students and faculty. Félicitations to all!
