Hunter Varsity Basketball opened the 2026 season in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 74–69 overtime victory over Boerum Hill HS. The Hawks showed incredible resilience, rallying back from a 16-point deficit entering the fourth quarter to force overtime and secure the win.
Senior captain and Player of the Game Dylan Cano led the charge with a dominant performance, finishing with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Ady Camara added 17 points, while senior Adrian Chen chipped in 15 points. Senior captain Braden Li contributed 12 points, and Josua Ahwireng earned Co–Player of the Game honors for his impact on both ends of the floor, and two clutch game winning free throws.
The Hawks now turn their focus to PSAL league play with two games on Wednesday and Friday. GO HAWKS!
