HCHS Hosts 3rd Annual Alumni Career Day Featuring Nearly 30 Speakers Across Fields
On May 18, Hunter College High School hosted its 3rd Annual Alum Career Day, welcoming nearly 30 alumni back to campus to speak with seniors about their professional journeys across a wide range of fields.
Students rotated through engaging panel sessions featuring alumni working in arts, entertainment, business, media, technology, engineering, finance, government, law, healthcare, and nonprofit leadership. Speakers shared candid insights about their career paths, day-to-day responsibilities, and the many ways their HCHS experiences shaped their trajectories beyond high school.
Among the presenters were professionals including an Emmy-nominated comedy writer and contributing humor writer for The New Yorker, a published author and journalist, leaders in private equity-backed business and global tech startups, engineers and data scientists, finance professionals in investment banking and asset management, public service leaders working in NYC emergency management, healthcare professionals serving in pediatric intensive care, and alumni practicing law, labor relations, and nonprofit advocacy.
The day concluded with a networking lunch in the courtyard, giving students additional opportunities to connect one-on-one with alumni and continue conversations sparked during the panels.
We are deeply grateful to all participating alumni for returning to share their time, expertise, and honesty about the many pathways from HCHS to meaningful careers.
