HCHS Celebrates Student Innovation at Annual Science Research Symposium

On May 21, the Hunter College High School community came together for the annual Science Research Symposium, an end-of-year celebration showcasing the impressive work of student researchers and the continued growth of the HCHS science research program.

The afternoon began with refreshments in the foyer before guests gathered in the auditorium for a program featuring student presentations, scientific discussion, and community celebration. Attendees also heard from keynote speaker Raashed Raziuddin of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, mentor to HCCS student Erica B., who shared insights into the importance of research, mentorship, and scientific discovery.

Student presenters Sophie O., Natalie V., and Danny S. shared their research projects with peers, faculty, families, and administrators, highlighting the curiosity, dedication, and critical thinking that define the HCCS research experience.

The symposium served as a meaningful celebration of student achievement and the collaborative spirit of the HCCS science community, ending the year with inspiration, reflection, and plenty of school spirit, including plushie raffles enjoyed by attendees throughout the event.
