Hunter Students Honored at CCNY’s 54th Annual Poetry Festival
Three Hunter High School students were among this year’s celebrated student voices and the winners of at the prestigious 54th Annual Poetry Festival hosted by The City College of New York on Friday, May 1, 2026.

The annual festival, presented by the Division of Humanities and the Arts and co-sponsored by Poets & Writers, celebrates young writers from across New York City through a full day of readings, performances, and literary recognition.
The festival also featured acclaimed guest poet Kay Poema alongside readings from elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as college writers and invited guests from across New York City.
We congratulate all 3 HCHS students on this outstanding achievement and celebrate all of the students who shared their voices through poetry at this inspiring citywide event.
