Take Your Kid to Work Day: HCCS Robotics in Action

On April 23, HCCS students Charlie Z. and Andrew Q. brought the RoHawklings FIRST® Tech Challenge robot to AllianceBernstein in New York City to help kick off the firm’s “Take Your Kid to Work Day,” delivering an exceptional, professional, and well-executed presentation that clearly communicated their robotics work to an audience of nearly 70 children.

The program began with remarks from AB staff about their support for youth robotics. Charlie and Andrew then introduced their team, reflected on the HCCS–AB partnership, and shared their experiences in FTC robotics, highlighting the engineering, collaboration, and problem-solving behind their work.

This was followed by a live demonstration of their robot, giving the childern a close look at its design and capabilities. The presentation sparked excitement and curiosity throughout the room, showcasing how the AB–HCCS partnership benefits students directly, extends its impact beyond HCCS, and reflects AllianceBernstein’s continued support of youth STEM education.
