HCHS AI Day 2026: Exploring the Future of Artificial Intelligence

Hunter College High School was proud to host AI Day on Thursday, April 23, 2026, an engaging and thought-provoking event that brought together students, alumni, and industry professionals to explore the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence.

Throughout the day, attendees heard from an impressive lineup of speakers who shared insights across a wide range of fields:
  • Dr. Sasha Blair-Goldensohn (Google) spoke on AI, accessibility, and mapping technologies, highlighting how innovation can better support individuals with disabilities.
  • Isabel Corpus (HCCS Alumna) presented on research in human-AI interaction, with a focus on AI’s role in society and policy.
  • Samantha Schonfeld (NYC Law Dept.) explored AI and the law, examining the legal implications of emerging technologies.
  • Dr. Aphinyanaphongs (NYU Langone) discussed AI in healthcare, emphasizing its transformative potential in medicine.
  • John Cantwell (Google), offered a practical perspective on AI development and implementation at scale.
In addition to guest speakers, the event showcased student-led demonstrations of AI tools, giving attendees a firsthand look at how HCCS students are actively engaging with and shaping the future of technology. We also heard from Emmett Bicker (HCHS ‘24), who shared insights into his AI startup journey. As part of the day’s resources, students were encouraged to explore opportunities such as the Cornell Tech Summer Innovation Intensive Program, open to students ages 15–19 interested in deepening their experience in technology and innovation.
