HCCS Summer Enrichment program for the Gifted will run again for its twenty-ninth year in July 2014. We accept only qualified students entering Grades 1 - 7 with recommendation from their teachers. This recommendation will be in the form of a progress note and will be emailed directly to the teachers during the registration period. Emails will only be sent to the teachers school email address.
Tuition for the program is $950, which includes a $50 non-refundable registration fee, classroom materials as well as lunch (students have the option to bring their own lunch). The first day of Registration is TBA. The deadline to register TBA. We encourage you to apply as early as possible to better your child's chance of acceptance. Class sizes are limited and will be filled on a "FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED" basis. Classes run Monday July 6th through Thursday July 30th, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from school.
Our theme for this summer will be Treasure Hunters
. The classes will be taught by NYS certified teachers in the following subjects: Writing, Arts and Sciences focusing on the theme. Students are assigned to three classes daily that are appropriate to their grade level.
They will learn in a relaxed and supportive environment that values creativity and intelligence while meeting others with similar talents and interests that will possibly develop into lasting friendships. Class size is limited to ensure maximum individual attention and creative group work. There will be no testing or grading, just learning and fun.
