MSAL - MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS

MSAL community,

As I’m sure you’re already aware, NYC schools are closed until further notice. As a result, we have cancelled MSAL spring sports until we can reassess the situation.

We will begin to reassess the MSAL spring season once schools are back in session and the large group gathering ban has been lifted.

If we are lucky enough to have students back in schools, and the ban lifted by April, May and/or June then we at the MSAL will either do one of two things depending on timing of our current situation:

1.      We will coordinate an abbreviated spring schedule, with the possibility of a small tournament at the end of the season.
2.      We will help facilitate intramural athletic games between schools. These game would just be for fun, no wins/losses would be recorded. This would act as a way for kids to be able to play sports during afterschool hours.

Most importantly and above all else we want to make it clear that we will only conduct MSAL events if it has been deemed safe by both the DOE and the CDC.

Stay safe
