Join the Public Schools Athletic League at the 48th  Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Games as we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reflect on our collective responsibility to work towards a more equitable society.  The meet will take place Monday,  January 21, 2019 at The New Balance Track and Field Center.

  Meet Information
  • The two-event rule applies in this meet, except for the pole vault.
  • Frosh events will be the 4x200m and 4x400m only
  • All events score, scoring will be on a 6-4-3-2-1 system.
  • Medals will be awarded to the top five places in each event. Plaques will be awarded to the top three teams.
  • The event judges will determine opening heights in the pole vault and high jump.
  • The high jump will begin promptly at the completion of the 55m dash.
  • The pole vault competition will begin at the conclusion of the pole vault clinic. The long jump will begin promptly at the conclusion of the triple jump.
An OPEN PIT as described below will be used. The triple jump and long jump will  run as open pits. When the event is called ALLcompetitors, must  sign-in, get their steps and run through. Once competition starts, only  run backs (from the board back to the runway are permitted). When the pit is  closed, the Referee in conjunction with meet management will determine “a time  for competition”. It is the responsibility of the athlete to take their jumps  during this time. In the triple jump, the competitor must inform the event  judge which board they will be using. 
The first mark by throwers, long jumpers and triple jumpers will be  recorded subsequently the remaining marks must meet the standard set forth by the games committee. If the attempts are less than the standard, the  attempts will not be measured.
  • The weight throw will begin at the conclusion of the shot put.
  • In the horizontal jumps and the throws, final places will be determined by the best of three trials
