PARENTS HAVE A THREE-WEEK WINDOW TO COMPLETE TESTING ONCE THEY SUBMIT AN APPLICATION. WE ENCOURAGE FAMILIES TO COMPLETE AND SUBMIT APPLICATIONS EARLY. TESTERS' SCHEDULES GET ESPECIALLY BUSY IN THE MIDDLE AND END OF THE SEASON, AND IT IS MUCH HARDER TO SECURE AN APPOINTMENT THAT WORKS WITH YOUR SCHEDULE.
ONLY FAMILIES THAT HAVE SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS MAY ATTEND OPEN HOUSES AND THESE EVENTS FILL QUICKLY AS WELL.
THERE IS NO ADVANTAGE GAINED FROM HAVING CHILDREN TESTED WHEN THEY ARE A MONTH OR TWO OLDER. THE SB-V EXAMS ARE SCORED ACCORDING TO A CHILD'S AGE AT THE TIME OF THE TEST.
IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO COMPLETE THE PROCESS, PLEASE DO NOT CREATE AN INITAL APPLICATION FOR YOUR CHILD.

THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT AN ONLINE APPLICATION TO HCES IS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2015 AT 4PM WHEN THE SYSTEM WILL CLOSE.
When you arrive at the application site, you will create a new application and be assigned an application identification code. An email will be sent to your address giving you directions for editing and submitting the application. You may click the link in that email to fill out and submit the application OR copy and paste your ID code into the screen where you have been working.
If applying for twins, parents must create separate applications for each child using different, unique email addresses.
There is an administrative fee of $70.00, payable online by credit/debit card using our secure system. If you wish to pay by money order (no personal checks or cash will be accepted) you may choose this option and follow the instructions for remitting payment. Applications are not complete until payment is received. THIS IS A NON-REFUNDABLE FEE.
A reduced administrative fee of $35.00 and waived testing fees are granted to families who can demonstrate financial need, according to guidelines available on the application. There is a limited amount of financial assistance available for families just above these guidelines.
If you would like to request a fee waiver please choose this option at “checkout”. When you do, you must pay the reduced fee ($35.00) and furnish the admissions office with income documentation for BOTH parents (in the form of 2014 1040 tax return forms, or documentation of grant awards/public assistance). If you need assistance meeting these requirements, please call the Admissions Office to assist you.
Once you have submitted and paid for your application, you will receive two confirming emails, one with instructions for the next steps and one acknowledging the receipt of your payment. The first of these emails will also appear on the screen at submission. All the information you need for scheduling an appointment for the modified Stanford-Binet exam with one of Hunter’s approved testers will be printed there, including your child’s ID number and the deadline for testing.
From the date of submission of the application, families will have a three week window within which they must schedule AND complete their child’s testing. Please make sure that you are available during this time period before you submit your application.
You will receive contact information for five or six testers. Families may contact ONLY one to make an appointment. Testers will not make appointments with families who do not have an ID number or deadline. There are NO exceptions to these deadlines or procedures.
